Bits-n-pieces Granola Bars

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal
- 2 cups old fashioned oats (or quick cooking)
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup dried dates
- 1/4 cup sweetened coconut
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/4 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 2/3 cup crunchy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 combine all dry ingredients except brown sugar in a large bowl.
- 2 in a small sauce pan combine brown sugar and light corn syrup.
- 3 heat until just boiling while stirring constantly (do not cook longer to avoid scorching sugar).
- 4 remove from heat. stir in peanut butter and vanilla.
- 5 add peanut butter mixture to dry ingredients.
- 6 quickly combine, then press into an ungreased 9"x13" pan. i wet my hands with cool water, then firmly press the mixture as flat as possible.
- 7 once cool cut into 12 bars.
- 8 enjoy!
