Chicken Won Tons With Hoisin-peanut Dipping Sauce

Ingredients

  • peanut oil
  • 1 cup chopped cooked chicken
  • 1 cup finely shredded cabbage (prepackaged)
  • 4 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Recipe

  • 1 won tons:.
  • 2 pour peanut oil to a depth of 3 inches into a large dutch oven; heat to 375 f (about 25 minutes).
  • 3 while oil heats, combine chicken and next 6 ingredients in a medium bowl. spoon 1 heaping teaspoonful of meat mixture in center of each won ton wrapper, moisten edges with water.

  • 5 fry won tons, in batches, 1 1/2 minutes or until golden, turning once. drain well on paper towels. serve with hoisin-peanut dipping sauce.

  • 7 combine all ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. serve with chicken won tons or other asian dippers.
