Black And Peanut Butter Brownies

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup good quality chocolate, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup smooth peanut butter or 1/3 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 1 1/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks or 1 cup chopped chocolate

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 350°f lightly grease a 9x9 pan.
  • 2 melt butter over low heat. remove it from the heat and stir in the chopped chocolate. keep stirring until the chocolate softens.
  • 3 stir in the sugar until well blended.
  • 4 add the vanilla and salt. mix well. let the mixture cool to lukewarm.
  • 5 beat in the eggs, one at a time.
  • 6 add the peanut butter and beat till incorporated.
  • 7 in a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
  • 8 stir into the egg mixture.
  • 9 stir in 3/4 cup of the chocolate chunks. spoon the batter into a greased 9" square pan, and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chunks over the top.
  • 10 bake the brownies for 25 minutes, until they're light golden brown and the edges pull just slightly away from the pan.
  • 11 remove from the oven, and cool before cutting.
