Baked Tofu With Peanut Sauce

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
  • 14 ounces firm tofu
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilies or 1/2 teaspoon garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chunky natural-style peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons dry sherry

Recipe

  • 1 in medium bowl combine soy sauce, sesame oil, and fresh ginger , this is the marinade.
  • 2 weigh down the tofu between 2 paper towels and press out the water for about 10 mins,
  • 3 dry the tofu well and slice into 1/2 inch cubes.
  • 4 toss gentily into the marinade and set aside for 30 minutes.
  • 5 pre heat oven to 450.
  • 6 arrange the tofu in a baking dish in a single layer.
  • 7 bake for 10 mins.
  • 8 meanwhile make the basting sauce by combining
  • 9 1/2 tsp chile/garlic sauce.
  • 10 1 tablespoon chunky natural peanut butter.
  • 11 2 t dry sherry.
  • 12 take the tofu out of the oven . cool slightly to work with.
  • 13 toss the tofu gentily in the above chilie/garlic/peanut butter/sherry mixture.
  • 14 then bake again for another 10 mins.
  • 15 serve at room temperature.
