Chocolate Butterscotch Pudding Cake

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, divided
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips (can use peanut butter, , cinnamon, or other flavor chip you like)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup boiling water

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350; butter 9 inch round or square pan.
  • 2 blend the flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  • 3 stir in butterscotch chips.
  • 4 in a small bowl, blend milk, oil, vanilla.
  • 5 add to dry ingredients.
  • 6 pour into prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
  • 7 blend together remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa.
  • 8 sprinkle over the cake batter.
  • 9 pour hot water over the surface of batter, do not stir.
  • 10 bake 35-40 minutes until top is dry.
