Chocolate Granola Bars

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 4 tablespoons walnut oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup puffed rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup peanuts (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup almonds (chopped )
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 and lightly grease or spray 9 x 13 pan.
  • 2 in a large bowl, beat brown sugar and walnut oil.
  • 3 blend in honey, vanilla, and egg.
  • 4 in a seperate bowl combine, flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  • 5 add flour mixture gradually to the sugar mixture and beat until combined.
  • 6 by hand stir in peanuts, puffed rice, almonds and oats.
  • 7 press firmly into the bottom of the greased pan.
  • 8 bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • 9 cool and cut into squares.
