Apple Crisp With Peanut Brittle Crust

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 granny smith apples, peeled, and quartered
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 ounces unsalted butter, chilled, and cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup peanut brittle, chopped
  • 1/4 cup peanuts, chopped
  • vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2 rub butter to coat bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • 3 in a large bowl, mix all the filling ingredients, toss to coat the apples, and pour into the baking dish.
  • 4 in another large bowl, combine all the topping ingredients except for the ice cream, and mix well.
  • 5 using both hands, mix topping ingredients in the bowl together until the mixture forms small lumps.
  • 6 sprinkle this mixture over the apple filling , and bake in a preheated ovenfor 50 minutes.
  • 7 let cool 15 minutes.
  • 8 serve with vanilla ice cream.
