Chocolate-peanut Butter Brownies

Ingredients

- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 ounces semisweet chocolate (sold in 1 ounce squares)
- 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 over a double boiler, melt chocolate squares; set aside to cool.
- 3 in a mixing bowl cream together sugar, peanut butter and butter.
- 4 beat in eggs and vanilla.
- 5 stir in flour, baking powder and salt; mix well.
- 6 pat 1/3 of the dough into an ungreased 9x13 pan.
- 7 place 1/3 of the dough into a separate bowl and stir in the melted chocolate and 3/4 cup chocolate chips.
- 8 in random pattern, drop remaining chocolate and peanut butter doughs over the bottom layer; pat down.
- 9 sprinkle with remaining chips.
- 10 bake for 25-30 minutes.
- 11 cool; cut into 24 bars.
