Chocolate-peanut Butter Brownies

Ingredients

  • Servings: 24
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 ounces semisweet chocolate (sold in 1 ounce squares)
  • 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 over a double boiler, melt chocolate squares; set aside to cool.
  • 3 in a mixing bowl cream together sugar, peanut butter and butter.
  • 4 beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • 5 stir in flour, baking powder and salt; mix well.
  • 6 pat 1/3 of the dough into an ungreased 9x13 pan.
  • 7 place 1/3 of the dough into a separate bowl and stir in the melted chocolate and 3/4 cup chocolate chips.
  • 8 in random pattern, drop remaining chocolate and peanut butter doughs over the bottom layer; pat down.
  • 9 sprinkle with remaining chips.
  • 10 bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • 11 cool; cut into 24 bars.
