Carameled Popcorn

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 8 quarts popped popcorn
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon burnt sugar flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon butter flavoring
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • peanuts

Recipe

  • 1 bring to a slow boil, the margarine, corn syrup, salt, and 2 cups brown sugar.
  • 2 cook for 5 minutes after mixture begins to boil. (stir and watch, this will burn easily).
  • 3 then remove from heat and thoroughly stir in flavorings.
  • 4 after flavorings are combined, add baking soda (this will make it foam).
  • 5 pour over papped corn;add peanuts.
  • 6 stir together, then put in large cake pan;put in 250 degree oven for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • 7 turn out on a cloth to cool.
  • 8 when completely cool, store in airtight container.
