Antioxident Granola Bars
Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins
Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 1 hr
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups oats (not instant oatmeal)
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup dried cherries, chopped
- 1 cup seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, sesame, flax, i use a mix)
- 1 cup raw peanuts
- 1 (14 ounce) can fat-free sweetened condensed milk
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 250 f and use a non-stick cooking spray to prepare an 9x13 or 8x10 pan. i prefer the 8x10 since it makes thicker bars, but use what you've got. make sure to get the sides, too.
- 2 heat the milk on the stove till warm.
- 3 combine the oats, seeds, nuts, fruit and coconut in a large bowl.
- 4 pour the milk over the oat mixture and use a spatula to mix it all together. it will be pretty thick.
- 5 press the mixture into the pan and bake for 1 hour.
- 6 remove from oven and let cool for 15 minutes slice into bars. i like to let the bars cool on wax paper. make sure they are totally cooled before storing.
