Brenda's Mom's Granola

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 6 cups old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 cup salted peanuts
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup ground flax seeds
  • 3/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 1/2 cups honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 mix all the ingredients except the cinnamon.
  • 2 place on a greased cookie sheet.
  • 3 sprinkle with cinnamon to taste before baking.
  • 4 bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes, stirring half way through.
  • 5 try not to over bake as the granola will get hard.
  • 6 as soon as it is out of the oven, scrape the granola into a pile on the sheet to cool (this aids in cleanup later).
  • 7 when almost completely cool (but not all the way cool), scrap off the sheet and store in an air tight container.
